Visited the European Coffee Expo: What It Was Like and What It Means for Roasters from the CIS
We recently attended a niche coffee expo in Europe that brought together key players in the coffee industry — from roasting brands to equipment manufacturers. It was a great opportunity to explore what’s driving the European coffee market and to establish valuable new contacts.

Who Did We See There?
The expo featured truly prominent names — including LAVAZZA and other major roasting companies that are already active in the ready-to-drink coffee market. German and Polish representatives made up a significant part of the exhibition. Interestingly, the vast majority of participants were roasted coffee producers rather than green coffee traders.
What About Green Coffee?
This segment turned out to be much more niche. We encountered only two or three coffee hubs dealing with green beans — all of them focused exclusively on the European market. Still, the connections were valuable: their offerings included a wide range of exotic varieties, including Kenyan beans, which are still rarely seen in the CIS market.

Who Was Missing?
We noticed the absence of major green coffee traders — likely because the event was more focused on roasters and end-product manufacturers. That said, there were some impressive booths featuring coffee roasters and other equipment, which will be especially relevant for those building or scaling their own production facilities.
Why Does This Matter?
For us, this trip wasn’t just about travel. It was about discovering new trends, flavors, bean varieties, and technologies. It’s about the opportunity to source high-quality and rare green coffee for markets in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia. We do this for those who want to create their own roasted coffee brand, who value stable supply chains, and who understand the true worth of premium beans.

What’s Next?
We’ve already started negotiations with new suppliers. If you’re roasting coffee or launching your own product line — let’s talk about what we can source specifically for your needs. These new expo contacts mean access to unique beans that haven’t yet reached the CIS market.
