Green Coffee Hub at Coffee & Tea Fest Expo Uzbekistan: How the Coffee Market Is Developing in Central Asia

Green Coffee Hub took part in Coffee & Tea Fest Expo Uzbekistan, one of the key events for the coffee industry in Uzbekistan. This year, we participated as partners of the exhibition and main sponsors of green coffee, supporting the professional coffee community, local roasters, and barista championships.

For us, participating in the exhibition was not only an opportunity to present our project, but also a chance to observe how the coffee market in the region is changing. Interest in high-quality coffee, local roasting, and professional exchange is growing noticeably — and this is exactly where a new coffee infrastructure in Central Asia is beginning to take shape.

Supporting Roasters and Coffee Championships

As part of the exhibition, Green Coffee Hub raffled off three bags of green coffee among roasters: one bag of Arabica and two bags of Robusta. It was important for us to support specialists who are developing local roasting and working with coffee as a professional product.

We also provided roasted coffee for the Barista and Latte Art Championships. Competitions like these help the industry grow: baristas demonstrate their skills, roasters better understand the requirements for coffee consistency, and businesses gain a clearer view of how the coffee market in Uzbekistan is evolving.

Local Roasting Is Gaining Momentum

One of the key observations from the exhibition was the growing interest in local roasting. The event featured local coffee projects and roasters who are already shaping their own vision of taste and working with audiences in Uzbekistan.

We expect the number of small local roasteries to increase in the coming years — not only in Tashkent, but also in other cities across the region. To support this growth, the market needs stable green coffee supplies, transparent logistics, and access to verified lots.

This is exactly the role we see for Green Coffee Hub: not just as a supplier of green coffee, but as a partner for roasters, coffee shops, HoReCa businesses, and distributors.

Competition as a Sign of Market Maturity

The exhibition also featured companies from other countries, including Russian producers of roasted coffee. For the Uzbek market, this is a positive signal: the choice is becoming broader, and competition is becoming more professional.

At the same time, local roasters and international brands often serve different needs. Large producers can offer stable volumes and ready-made solutions, while local roasters bring freshness, flexibility, and a more precise adaptation to the preferences of their audience.

This balance helps the market develop: coffee shops receive more options, consumers gain access to a more diverse product range, and the professional community becomes more active.

B2B Events Help the Market Grow

Coffee & Tea Fest Expo Uzbekistan became an important platform for the B2B segment. The exhibition brought together roasters, suppliers, coffee shop representatives, HoReCa businesses, distributors, and industry experts.

Among the participants of the professional program was Arseny Kuznetsov, 2019 World Coffee Roasting Champion and founder of GRAVITAS Coffee. His participation once again highlights the growing interest of the international coffee community in the markets of Uzbekistan and Central Asia.

We believe the region needs more events of this kind: meetings, cuppings, professional presentations, and B2B formats where market participants can discuss coffee quality, supply, roasting, and joint projects.

Green Coffee Hub: More Than a Green Coffee Warehouse

Our goal is to develop Green Coffee Hub as a full-scale green coffee hub in Central Asia.

We do not simply store coffee in a warehouse. We take responsibility for the key processes that matter to roasters and businesses: logistics, supply management, quality control, sample collection, test roasting, and cupping of coffee lots.

Each batch is evaluated before entering our assortment. We test the coffee, assess its flavor profile and consistency, and make sure we offer the market a product we can trust.

For our clients, this means fewer risks, clear coffee origin, and access to verified lots without having to manage all logistics and quality control processes independently.
